The Binoctem was manufactured in Jena in the German Democratic Republic (DDR)
Serial number 5696897.
The Binoctem was a center-focus model derived from the Binoctar and was produced from 1931 until the cessation of Carl Zeiss Jena operations in 1990.
With black leather case and leather strap. There is a plastic strap attached to the binoculars (probably not original). All 3 lens caps are missing. The right lens has marks and light stains. The outer body has been painted black by the previous owner.
