The Tourist-3 monocular telescope, produced by Lytkarino Optical Glass Plant (LZOS) in the USSR from the 1960s to the 1980s, is a remarkable piece of vintage optical design.
This 20x gray monocular, complete with its original manual and hard plastic carrying case with strap, remains in excellent condition with only minor signs of age.
Known for its impressive quality, the Tourist-3 was capable of revealing the general contours of the Moon’s surface on a bright night—an exceptional feat for a compact Soviet-era optical device. While it doesn't replace a professional telescope, it stands out as a collectible testament to mid-20th-century craftsmanship and innovation.
LZOS, founded in 1934, is a key producer of precision optical instruments and glass in Russia, known for its role in scientific and aerospace applications.
