The manufactory in Chodov (near Karlovy Vary) is one of the oldest in Bohemia. It was founded by the owner of the Chodov estate, Fr. Miesel in 1811.
Around the middle of the 19th century, the company changed owners several times. In 1872 the Haas and Czjzek Company bought the manufactory, which then contributed to the further flourishing of porcelain product.
The well-know H&C brand under two spruces and the letter HC (Chodov) is used on pink porcelain from Chodov to this day. Porcelain factory in Chodov went bankrupt around 2013 for the second time in a row so these unique pieces are not produced anymore.
Pink porcelain from Chodov is considered to be one of the most luxurious brands on the central European market. Handmade and hand painted porcelain is gilded with 24 carat gold. Unlike other manufacturers using only pink glaze, Manufaktura Chodov colors the whole porcelain mass, which is then covered by a transparent glaze. Thanks to its complexity and special production process, pink porcelain from Chodov will always remain typical and original.
If you look at the logo on the bottom of the cup you can understand that they are from before 1993, as it shows the logo with the writing Czechoslovakia (afterwards it was replaced with a similar one but with the writing Czech Republic).
