Pertti Kallioien, Metsa collection

Finland 1970, brand Lasisepat Mantsala, material crystal glass, cm 8,5x8x26
Centerpiece by designer Pertti Kallioinen, Metsa (in English forest) series produced in the 1970s.
The brand is Lasisepat Mantsala, one of the lesser-known Finnish glassworks whose factory operated from 1978 to 2003.
It produced blown and cast glass and its best-known designer was Pertti Kallioinen, author of the Cow Parsley and Metsa (forest) series made in the 1970s.
As with other designs by this designer, the centerpiece is very tactile due to the pattern on the outside made by blowing the glass into a wooden mold.
