As the child of a winegrowing family from the French wine region Burgundy, the oenologist Jean Lenoir developed a love and passion for wine in all its facets at an early age. He began giving introductory courses in wine tasting in 1978. His courses proved very popular and based on his courses, Jean Lenoir finally developed the first aroma set Le Nez du Vin, 54 aromas in 1981.
In the preface, Jean Lenoir wrote: “I hope that this confrontation with the world of smells will open the doors of your memories. What is more evocative than a smell to help you rediscover your childhood? In shorts, in a field of freshly cut wheat, or in that room where the aroma of yeast wafts, your grandmother, her smile, her apron, everything comes back to life for us. Forgotten images rediscovered by emotion.”
