Flos Papillona

Italy 1970, brand Flos, material metal and glass, cm base 25x25 height 192

Designed in the 1970s by the renowned Italian duo Afra Bianchin and Tobia Scarpa, the Papillona lamp is a poetic example of vintage Italian design.

Created for Flos—a brand whose name fittingly means flower in Latin—this lamp is both functional and sculptural, a luminous “butterfly” suspended in time.
With its clean lines, soft light diffusion, and distinct silhouette, the Papillona captures the refined, modern elegance that defined the work of the Scarpa couple. It’s a piece that doesn’t just light a room—it transforms it, bringing a quiet sophistication that feels just as fresh today as it did decades ago.
It features a dimmer switch. Some signs of wear due to age and use.
With one more new original glass never used (purchased from GMR Vicenza)
